Communicating with Influence

Course Outline

What differentiates outstanding communicators from others is their ability to influence outcomes in others.

Effective communication is the key to holding successful relationships both at work and in our personal lives. It’s about being able to articulate our thoughts by using the right language - both verbal and non verbal. It’s also about being able to understand, process and interpret what others are saying (or not saying), whilst creating a safe environment that encourages the flow of dialogue.

This program uses the TALKING® Framework for how to conduct a critical conversation and is underpinned by an internationally acclaimed and extremely effective communication model known as the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI™).

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • understand their preferred communication style and how to adapt it to suit the style of those they are engaging
  • influence others effectively by "speaking their language"
  • identify other people’s profiles by observing their body language, tone and verbal communication
  • implement key strategies for adapting their preferred communication style to those of others
  • apply principles of effective dialogue and critical conversations to help prevent the onset of conflict
  • apply communication strategies to team meetings, customer interactions, coaching and management.
